Hannah Sassoon was the founding director of the Montgomery County Family Justice Center. Her vision was central to its planning and creation. As part of her work for the Center, she helped establish the FJC Foundation, the County’s Domestic Violence Coordinating Council, and the Safe Start Program for children exposed to violence in the home. Prior to serving as the FJC’s Director, she was Montgomery County’s first Domestic Violence Coordinator, and before that she created and supervised a victim assistance unit in the Abused Persons Program.
Now officially retired from County service, Ms. Sassoon continues to work with the Foundation on the education committee, helping clients move from safety concerns toward a life of self-sufficiency.
